Does having a ‘For Sale’ sign help sell my house?

It may seem a silly question but with all the stats pointing towards people looking for their new home online, does having a ‘For Sale’ sign outside your house help sell your house any quicker?

Well the short answer is Yes it still does!

Even though a whopping 96% of people who are looking to buy a new property go online to search in a certain area, you may be surprised to hear that we often get calls from people who have simply seen the For Sale sign outside a house they are interested in buying. Of course having your property listed on the big portals such as Rightmove and Zoopla is very important as it puts your property in front of thousands of people looking to sell each day, but having that For Sale sign posted in your garden gives off a very clear signal to people in the local area.

Often someone who lives nearby who may not be looking to buy a house themselves, therefore is not actively searching the web, but does know of a friend or family member that is and will see the For Sale board and let the potential buyer know.

People looking to buy a property in a certain area will often visit that area first, have a drive around and get a feel for the place.
